Our new life together

I have decided to join the wonderful world of blogging. It's a little intimidating but i'm excited! A lot has happened to Nate and I over the last few months so I thought this would be a great way to let our family and friends know what's goin on with us. Nate and I were married on October 17th, 2009. The day we were coming home from our honeymoon, Nate's cousin, Chris, called and offered Nate a job as a financial analyst for Affordable Power in Houston, TX. After not much convincing, Nate and I decided it would be a fun adventure and a great way to start of our new life together. Although, it was a very exciting opportunity for us, it was also one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. I was, and still am, very attached to the family I was nannying for. It was very hard to say good bye to the Fergusons and I still have random bursts of tears whenever I think about them but luckily the 11yr old, Emily, calls and texts me everyday and makes me laugh...sayin things like "don't you wanna move back and be our nanny again?....Nate will be able to find a job. I hear costco pays well!" And she calls to tell me about how Cooper flushed paper cups down the toilet and therefore, because they had to pay for a plumber to come to the house, she had decided she would shop at Walmart because she heard on tv that you can "save $300 dollars a year by shoppin there". She is only 11 and yet she is one of the funniest people I have ever known. I love all those kids very much and miss them a ton!

Anyway....within 6 weeks of being married, we packed up our stuff and started out on our journey to TX. We were leavin just a few days before Thanksgiving so we decided to back track a little and head to St. George to be with Nate's family for a few days. Then the day after Thanksgiving, we drove to Prescott AZ to pick up my mom so she could drive the rest of the way with me. Since Nate and I both were in seperate cars, I didn't want to drive all that way by myself. :) It was great having my mom with me. We had some good bonding time on that loooong drive. After about 20 hrs, and one nights sleep, we finally arrived in Sugar Land, TX. We stayed at Nate's cousins for a few days then quickly found an apartment and we were settled in within 3 days of bein here. Impressed?!?

Nate is enjoying his job, and I am enjoying doin absolutely nothin! I recently started doing hot yoga, which I love! Besides that, I spend my days walkin the mall, (not buyin anything, cause I have amazing self control! :)!), and hangin out with my new bff, Julie! Julie is one of Nates cousins wife. Julie is my age and has an adorable little boy, Austin. Nate has two cousins who currently live within a mile or so of us. Nick, who is married to Julie, and then Chris, who is married to Sally, and they have 3 beautiful children, Peyton, Kate, and Brooke!! It has been really nice having family so close. It has made the transition a lot easier. We are in the process of looking to buy a house!! I am very excited.

The blessings have been pouring down the last couple of months and I am VERY grateful to my Heavenly Father! I am a very lucky girl!!
