Yesterday was a bit of a rough day. It started with a trip to Ikea with Julie and Sally. I found a changing table and was super excited about the price. Only $79! Walking out of Ikea, I stubbed my toe really bad on the cart and i'm pretty sure i broke my pinkie toe cause I still can't walk on the foot without it throbbing. But that was soon to be the least of my worries. When I got home, I decided to put the changing table together. The directions were super simple, and yet I could not get the boards to slide into the stupid polls. My first thought was that the boards were just cut too big and that it was my fault for buying a cheap changing table. I called my mom to express my frustration, and she told me to just stop and let nate figure it out when he got home. She said I was probably just missing a small step. So I gave up and sat on the couch for about an hour....and then decided to try again. I knew I was just as capable of putting this stupid thing together, as Nate was. About 5 min into my second go with it, I pulled one of the legs out of the board, using all my body weight and strength, and yanked it straight into my eye ball. Not my eye brow, or my cheek, my EYE BALL! I started screaming at the top of my lungs and ran into the bathroom, I was sure my eye was going to be gushing blood! But thankfully it wasn't! It was just red, and a little swollen and things were a bit blurry. I called Nate, balling hysterically. He was very sweet and left work to come be with me. Then I called my mom, but I didn't get quite the same reaction. She was not to happy with me. She doesn't understand why I can't ever just be patient...its not one of my strong suits. Anyways...needless to say, I woke up this morning with a sore foot and a very sore eye! Lets hope today is a better day.
P.S. Nate came home and tried to work on the table, and he too could not get the board to slide in! So I wasn't a total idiot. The changing table is going back today!!! That thing is the death of me!
