9 months

Sadie had her 9 month appointment this week and she's lookin great! The doctor was very happy with her weight gain. She's always been in the 25th percentile but as of yesterday, she's now in the 40th. 40th for height, as well, and 65th for head(Nate says she takes after her momma, whatever that means).
*Sadie now weighs 17lbs, 13oz
*She has mastered crawling and nothing in the house is safe anymore, not to mention mommy can't have a minute to herself, cause the second I get in the shower, she's crawling in there and banging on the door. :)
*She can pull herself all the way up and stand on her own for a few seconds, without holding onto anything

*She loves to talk and her new word is BaBa, you know she's happy when she won't stop saying it!
*She loves alot of interaction, whether its playing with toys or playing with her favorite cousin, Austin. He's so good to her and always tells her she looks SOO cute, everytime he see's her. He also tells me, "Sadie's my BEST friend", at least 5times a day. She's one lucky girl!

And of course I can't forget about her bf, Kayla. (who is also Austin's baby sister) Sadie loves her Kayla, even though Kayla did leave her with a big scab on her nose last week, and pulled her hair today! It's a bit of a love/hate relationship. J/K Julie! :)

*Sadie's favorite time of day, is bath time. When all else fails, I know i can throw her in the bath to make her happy!

Sadie also loves to spend time with her other "Weaver" cousins. We have finally switched wards, after being in our new house for over two months now. We were sad to leave, but also so happy because we're now in the same ward as Nate's other cousin, Chris, and his family. Sadie gets LOTS of attention from her cousins in sacrament meeting. I'm sure it makes it a little hard for Chris and Sally to keep their kids reverent. Sorry Sally!

I know I've said this before but I truly am so grateful for my life. I have such an amazing husband, a beautiful, healthy girl, and a little boy on the way! We have made so many wonderful friends, here in Sugar Land, and as much as I complain that I don't exactly LOVE Texas, I do love the people and wouldn't change it for anything!

Our Little Charlie

Yesterday we found out the sex of baby #2 and we couldn't be more thrilled! We're having a little boy. Those that are close to me, know that I REALLY wanted a boy next. I tried not to express it too much, cause I obviously would have been excited either way, but all my dreams have officially come true! I've had his name picked out since before we knew what the first baby was. In case you didn't already figure it out, his name will be Charlie, after my Grandpa. We're all very excited and can't wait to meet him.
Last night we had our family and close friends over for the big reveal. I wanted Sadie to somehow be the messenger but I didn't know how to do it. Then a friend suggested painting her toe nails either blue or pink. I thought it was a cute idea. I also made the "Better than Sex" cake, and made the topping blue. I'm so glad our family and friends were able to celebrate this exciting time with us!

This weekend, Sadie and I got to go watch Nate ride his dirt bike. We had a lot of fun and I'm pretty sure he enjoyed showing off for his girls! Sadie got so excited everytime he drove by on his bike. She'd laugh and throw her arms up and down. It was the cutest thing. And I know Nate was thinking how much he couldn't wait to put Sadie on one! I'm glad Nate was able to find somewhere to ride in Houston. It's fun watching him have so much fun!

Julie's Bday

Last week was my best friend/cousin's birthday. All the girls got together at Pappasitos for dinner. We had such a great time, celebrating Julie's 24th! I love that girl so much! She is one of the few things I love about Texas! But all of Nate's cousins, make living here, so worth it. It's been so great getting to know all of the Weavers and Sadie's going to grow up with so many cousins that love her!

Last week, Nate's sister, Lezlie, came to visit. We had so much fun while she was here! Anyone that knows Lezlie, knows that she is the funniest/sweetest person alive and everyone LOVES her! Sadie especially loved having her here. Everytime she'd walk in the room, Sadie would get a huge grin on her face.
We got to do lots of fun things while she was here and of course, went out to eat, alot! There was sushi, bbq with the Weavers, picnic in the park, pedicures, shoe shopping (my fav part), and yummy mexican food! Oh and we went to this AMAZING dessert place down town, called Ruggles.
Here are some pics of the fun times with Auntie Lezlie.

For Shiz up the Spout!

Yes, its true...I'm embarrassed/excited to say....we're expecting baby number two! It obviously was not planned, cause no one in their right mind would purposefully get pregnant when their baby is only 5 months old, but we could not be more thrilled!

The story of how I found out, is a little hilarious. I was a few days late, and I am NEVER late, so I decided to buy a test. I bought the test in the morning and told Julie, (Nate's cousins wife), that I was worried I could be pregnant. She told me to come over and take the the test at her house. People that know us, would not expect anything less. So I did just that. After I peed on the stick, I looked at it and it had that beautiful, SINGLE line. I was so relieved. I came out of the bathroom, feeling pretty good about the results. Until about 10 min later, when I went back into the bathroom, and saw that another line had appeared!!! I screamed VERY loud, fell to the ground, and was trying not to vomit. It was pretty dramatic. I didn't know how I was going to tell Nate and I was worried about what his reaction would be. I wanted to get a "Big Sister" shirt for Sadie to wear, but of course they don't make Big Sister shirts for 5 month olds!!!! So I bought iron on letters and made one. I told Nate to meet me for dinner, and when he went to get Sadie out of the car seat.....SURPRISE! He was very confused! "Why is Sadie wearing a big sister shirt?"...."Is she wearing someone elses shirt?"....he didn't get it. I looked at him and said, "NATE!, think about it!" He thought for a second, and then it clicked! At first he had no expression at all, and then after a few seconds, there was a smile. I was so relieved!

I've been feeling pretty sick, and the only thing that makes me feel better, is to eat. I never thought I'd say this, but I am SICK of food! My mom keeps telling me, the sicker you are, the healthier your baby will be. I'm not sure if that's true, but if it is, this will be one healthy baby! But I think Hawaii in a week, will be just what the Dr. ordered! :)

I have had two ultra sounds, and baby looks perfect! We're very excited and it'll be fun for Sadie to have a brother or sister, close in age.
I feel like the blessings just keep pouring down and I am so grateful! I love my family so much!
Oh and I'm 11 weeks. :)

I had to make another post today, because I am just so excited! Sadie can sit up on her own now. She sat up for about 5 min tonight, without falling over. It's a very exciting day in our house!

Half Bday

Sadie is half way to her first bday! She has changed so much in the last 6 months, and I've loved every minute of it. She has so much personality now, and has a constant smile on her face. She's such a happy baby!

But the poor girl was horribly sick all last week. It started about a week and a half ago, with a nasty cough. She didn't have a fever or any other symptoms, but I still wanted to take her to the doctor, to get it checked out. And low and behold, she had Bronchiolitis. But unfortunately, because she's so young, there was nothing we could give her. We just had to wait it out. So by Saturday, she was feeling so much worse, and now had a fever and a constant runny nose, along with her horrible cough. Her fever was pretty high, so I called the Dr, and since it was a Saturday, they sent me over to the Urgent Care. Oh, and I forgot to mention, on top of all this, Nate got the stomach flu the same day she started with her cough, so I was husband-less during the worst of it. So, I spent the day going from Urgent Care, to the hospital (for a chest x-ray), then back to Urgent Care for the results, by myself. And poor Sadie, was miserable the entire time. But luckily, her x-rays came back clear, and once again the Dr. told me it was just a virus and we had to wait it out. So then Monday rolls around, and I get a call from Sadie's Dr., to see how she was feeling. The Dr. asked what her temperature was, I told her it was 101.3. She said that she shouldn't still be having a fever for this long, and told me to bring her in. So Monday afternoon, we went back to the Dr...and this time she said the virus had turned into an infection, both respiratory and an ear infection. But the good news is, she could finally give her an antibiotic! Momma couldn't have been more thrilled! Especially after almost a week of no sleep. So now Sadie's been on her antibiotic for 6 days and is feeling MUCH better! Her cough is still lingering but all her other symptoms have gone away.
Since she was so sick, and not eating much, she dropped a little bit of weight. And she was already in lower percentile as it was, but that's ok, Nate says she'll just be a flyer (As in a cheerleader, who is on top of each stunt)! Yep, that's totally something Nate would say!

*Sadie currently weighs, 14lbs 5oz.
*She loves her toys and can play independently for about a half hour
*She especially loves her saucer
*Still loves to grab her feet, and put them in her mouth
*LOVES her binky, I don't know how I'm ever gonna break her of it!
*Still sleeps well, but once we get in our new house, we're going to work on getting her on more of a schedule.
*I have yet to SEE her sit on her own, but Nate informed me this morning that while I was sleeping in, he had her sitting on her own, for quite a while...so we'll see. :)
*I've been giving her solids every once and while, but she does not like the rice. Only oatmeal, and it can't be plain. She likes a little flavor, so I mix it with a little banana. I might have a picky eater on my hands
*She weaned herself of breastfeeding, at 4 months. Just stopped taking it completely. It was very devastating for me, and I tried to pump for the next month, made it to about 5 months, and eventually my supply started to dwindle. So now she's officially a formula baby. But I have accepted it and moved on...:(

Despite getting over her cold, she's still had quite a fun weekend. She got to go swimming over at my friend Jacquelyns house, both Friday and Saturday, and she LOVED it. And on Friday night she got to go to daddy's bday party.
Here are some pics of her eventful weekend...

My friend Jana made Sadie this skirt and onesie, to wear to the party. I love it so much! She's so crafty and so talented!

Poor thing was worn out by the end of the night...

New Home!

We found our perfect home! We'll be closing escrow on March 30th, and I cannot wait!! This house is perfect. It's 2 stories, 3 bedrooms + a game room, and 2 and a half baths. The kitchen has been completely re-done. New tile floors, new counter tops, and stainless steal appliances. It has brand new carpet, a wet bar down stairs and a LAUNDRY ROOM!...(I think that's my favorite part). I've hated having to go out to the garage to do laundry! I also LOVE the backyard. They put in a new deck with wooden benches. It's adorable!

Only 3 more wks. Sooo excited! I'll post pictures as soon as I can.

5 Months!

Our baby girl is 5 months old today. I can't believe it! I know I keep saying this, but time really does fly!! I feel like the last 5 months is one big blur. But it's been the best 5 months of my life. Sadie just keeps getting more and more perfect everyday. She's healthy and happy, although she has had her first ear infection and 2 colds. At her appointment last week, she was 13lbs, 5oz. She's very petite. :) She's still a good sleeper, but the last couple of weeks were a little rough, with her cold. She's talking a lot more, and laughing, which are the best sounds in the world! She has also discovered her feet and loves to shove them in her mouth. She's getting much more interested in toys and loves to play in her saucer. I love my little family so much and am so grateful for the joy that Sadie and Nate bring to my life!

Nate's mom comes this week to visit, and we're very excited for Sadie to get to spend some time with her Grandma!

Sadie at 5 months....

Saturday, January 29, 2011

Last weekend, as Nate and I were driving down our street, we noticed our neighbor was having a garage sale....and I immediately spotted this.....

It was a little hard to miss! Pretty hideous, right? I told him to stop and I went to see what they were selling it for. TEN BUCKS!!...I couldn't resist.

So this weekend I decided I was going to re-paint it and put it in Sadie's room. She desperately needed a dresser. Especially since everyday I'm coming home with a new outfit for her.

My friends, Tamra and Cristina had things they needed to paint as well. Cristina bought a mirror she wanted to paint, and Tamra had a cofee table. We all even showed up with the exact same paint. It was pretty funny. I didn't get before pics of theirs but here are the finished products...

And here it is in Sadie's room...I found cute little crystal knobs, shaped like a flower, at Hobby Lobby. (But its hard to see them in the pic)
